Following an increase in crimes being committed in Nassau, Bahamas, Royal Caribbean is warning passengers of dangers that could be found in the cruise port.
In a letter distributed to guests onboard Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas, the company directly addresses the issue. The note, signed by Captain Srecko Ban, says that non-violent crimes, like theft of personal items, were 'the most common types of crimes.'
Captain Srecko Ban adds that visitors to Nassau, just like visitors to all major cities in the world, needed 'to be mindful of their personal safety.”

The cruise line goes on to offer the following advice:
- Avoid wearing expensive jewelry.
- Leave valuables in your stateroom safe.
- Keep your belongings (phones, expensive cameras) secure and in sight.
- Carry only the credit cards and cash that you will need on the outing and use discretion when handling cash publicly.
